Eleven days into 2014.  Not a bad start for the most part.  Spent New Year's Eve with brethren.  Now that's the way it should be.  Quality time with quality people!!  Good music too! :O)  We've had several of our brethren from other assemblies come to church so far this year.  WOW, it is such a blessing to see them walk through the doors.  Then we've had several over to the house for visits too.  We had the snow storm of the century on January 5th.  We had around 12 inches of snow.  The temps dropped down to -15 and the next day it never got out of the negatives.  Bone chill'in cold.  But thank God we were warm and safe.  A bit of sad news, my cousin delivered her baby at 18 weeks.  A perfectly formed little boy.  No, he didn't make it.  I saw pictures of them holding the baby.  My heart broke to see the looks on their faces.  What should be looks of great joy was such deep sadness.  What do you say?  All my girls have had miscarriages.  I didn't know what to say to them either.   All I could do was to hold them and cry with them.  Praise be that God is a better parent than I am and gave them the comfort they needed.  But on a happy note, Krissy turned 30.  Oh wait a minute, that just means I'm getting much older.  Ugh!! :O)

Chicago Style Pizza

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas.  Mine was fantastic!!   I had a beautiful time with my kids and grandkids.  Instead of the traditional Christmas dinner, we had pizza.  Lol, yep, that's right, we had pizza.  The idea was for each family to bring their favorite pizza.  Then, everyone could try it out.  No, we're not a traditional family.  We're a little, well, a lot crazy.  Sometimes we'll have turkey and ham on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but some, most of the time we will have something different, like Chinese.  That way we don't get burned out on normal stuff. :O)  Well, back to the pizza.  When we were in Chicago in October, we order a Chicago style pizza.  OMGoodness, it was fantastic!!  But way to big to enjoy it in a motel room.  So, I decided I was going to make my own Chicago style pizza.  I must say it was goooooooooddddd!!!!!  But, the hit of the dinner was Krissy's breakfast style pizza.  Okay, fine, it was good too.
Now, it's time for the new year.  Another year older and another year closer to retirement.  2013 has had it's down times and it's good times.  Lots and lots of deaths.  Lot's of sadden hearts.  But, some huge blessings too.  For 2014, well, "even so come now Lord Jesus" kinda sums it up for me.

Happy New Year and may God bless you and richly bless you and your family!!
